A Minimalistic Christmas Interior

Can a Christmas interior still look distinctive without a Christmas tree? This photo proves that it can.

A lively living room

Cool interior!

[A lively living room]

At first sight, it seems a little banal. But its liveliness and satiation definitely attract attention. I've fallen in love with this delicious living room.

10 extravagant Christmas tree designs for your holidays

Close to Christmas and New Year we as always look for a new year tree, which is the main symbol of these holidays. But who said that it should be a real tree? So, I've chosen 10 of the most interesting and creative Christmas trees for you.

[Christmas tree made of light balls]

If you drink a lot of Mountain Dew you can make a holiday tree by utilizing all these green cans... Thrifty! :)

[Christmas tree made of Mountain Dew cans]

For book lovers will like this one:

[Christmas tree made of books]

If you want to have a lot of money next year, go ahead and to create a money tree :)

[Christmas tree made of banknotes]

A nice approach is to dress yourself into a new year tree - why not?

[Christmas tree dress]

You can also make a tree with your kids from some feathers:

Or use bamboo:

Why not to carve an ice tree in the yard?

Another variant is to shape a coat hanger like a pine tree.

And finally, this shiny metal tree is pretty cool as well:

Cool yellow and black kitchen

Check out this cool yellow kitchen!

[A yellow kitchen with black, gray and white units]

I don't know what about you, but as for me, I've fallen in love with this bright and sunny kitchen. The team of yellow, black, gray and white creates a good color mix. The downside is that the bold yellow color will eventually tire you down. That's why I'd probably not apply such an approach for my kitchen.

A spacious and cozy cabinet

Until today I believed that a cabinet should be small. But this photo proves that in this case space can't be superfluous.

[Spacious cabinet with open shelves and a table with wire-frame legs]

Spacious, soft and cozy room plus that includes only the most essential things with no extra trifles - that's a sure setting for some fruitful work. Pay attention to the color of this room, how faultless it is. Everyone can envy the owner of this perfect cabinet!

The "tofu armchair" that looks like a foam cube

A Chinese designer has invented an armchair that doesn't look like an armchair until you sit down on it. When not in use, it looks like a foam cube, and that's because it actually is a foam cube!

[The armchair that looks like a foam cube until you sit down on it. When seated, it looks like a normal armchair.]

Of course, it's not just a plain cube of foam, it's special technology is in it's special cuts that give the "tofu armchair" its unusual properties. Would it feed into your own interior? Share your thoughts by commenting to this post!

Fantastic carousel room for the twins

Look at this lovely photo! It's one of the most fantastic child's room that I've ever seen.

[A fairytale children's room with carousel which carries two cribs for the twins]

This room is made by creative desiners of a company called "Kidtropolis". They've created a real paradise for the little ones by transforming the kid's room into a fairytale carousel.

Here you can see the perfect combination of details and color palette, which make this room so cosy and comfortable, and what's especially cool that it equally suits both girls and boys. But the main accent of this interior is actually the furniture - that great carousel, which carries two cribs (for the twins!) as well as two carousel horses, which look like guards for the kids during their sleep.

[Play zone of this creative kids room]

I'm totally in love with this gorgeous room. How could you not love it?

"African" style living room

How about to let some African motives into your home?

[A living room with a terracotta leather sofa and some gold and black elements]

As for me, it's a cool idea: this living room looks interesting, chic and simple at once. Aren't these qualities what we desire when creating an interior design?

The central element of this living room is the stylish "african" leather sofa. And those zesty accessories complement this African style interior like a charm. And finally, a team of terracotta, gold and black colors round off the impression.

Hello, baroque!

This dinning room is for lovers of luxury.

[Baroque-style dinning room]

It's in baroque style that now seems to be forgotten. But this room, that can be called "moderate barogue", can actually fit nicely into the interior of your modern home.

Overall, this dinning room looks gorgeous, isn't it?

A modern-looking interior

This modern style interior is so wonderful, isn't it?

[A modern style room in green and gray palette]

This room is accessorized to perfection: nothing superfluous, and looks great. I especially like these red round lamps which complement this interior. Also, look how well the color palette is chosen: all the colors feel very modern, making the room very serene and gorgeous at the same time.

Hat decoration of your wall

Check out this cool idea to decorate a wall with hats!

[Hat decoration of your wall]

I like it. But if you decide to make something like this for your home, you must keep in mind what a dust collector it's going to be. Be ready to clean it non stop! :)

Delicious white bedroom with bright accents

For today's post I have this bedroom.

[White bedroom with bright accents]

I've chosen it because it's color is similar to that of the kitchen from my previous post. Although the designers of both rooms use the same white main color, the distinction of this bedroom from that kitchen is in its well-chosen bright accessories. The striped pillows, flowery curtains, interesting bright armchair - everything seems extremely attractive and zesty. They are just several elements that are easy and cheap to change, so if you get bored with those accents, replacing them is a breeze.

So, if you feel like your room is lacking something, then maybe all you need is to add some bright accents for a truly magnetic look.

White kitchen with metal elements

Take a look at this kitchen:

[Spacious white kitchen with metal elements]

At first sight, it seems light, spacious and charming. But then we notice lots of white color, and that seems a bit tedious. Bright color palettes are certainly great for kitchens, but it should be kept in mind that a white-on-white scheme is only good for small kitchens, and not for a kitchen of that size. As for me, it needs a little bit of dark accented elements, just as the tabletop and the appliances. The team of white and metal will look very good!

Bowerbird, a designer bird

In Australia and New Guinea lives a bird specie called Bowerbirds. Males builds for themselves some sort of huts, and then decorate them in a very creative way.

[Nest of the designer bird decorated with blue pieces]

[Another nest, decorated with shells]

Interestingly, the birds don't actually live in those bowers. They are needed just to attract a female and couple with her. They specifically target the design of those nests for females, and it's being noted that even human females do like them. Look how they use various items to decorate the entrance of their nests (video). That's definitely not what you would imagine if someone says that there exist a designer bird, isn't it?

The existence of such a birds arises an interesting question: is human urge of decorating everything that surrounds us an animal instinct? We definitely would want to believe that this is something that is specific only to such intelligent creatures as humans. What do you think?

Hundreds of hearts for girls' room

Every girl wants to be a princess. And her room is the first step for the dream to come true.

[Great wallpaper with hundreds of hearts for girls' room]

To my mind, this girls' room has some attributes of fabulousness. First of all, the canopy. As you can see, this canopy has unusual, rocket-shaped form, and that gives the whole room some novelty. And of course, a real zest of this room is the wallpaper with hundreds of hearts. Doesn't it look nice? Even at the moments when the girl's mother isn't near her, these warming hearts remind that her how beloved she is.

But unfortunately I can't say this room is perfect. It looks a little dry as for little girl. I'd add some accessories and quilling.

Fresh way of thinking

How do you like this one?

[Fresh way of thinking]

As far as I can see, all those square parts of the mirror are attached at a slightly different angle, so you can't see a whole image of yourself in that mirror. I wonder whether it is fun or annoying when you try to use it as a... Well, as a mirror.

The sofa is just as cool as the mirror, especially the pillows. I'd even say, the pillows wouldn't look so good without that gray sofa, while the gray sofa would be too gray without these creative pillows. Congratulations to the designer of this interior for his or her fresh way of thinking.

A bright and positive floral interior

Wow! Wonderful idea! This room is so sunny, fresh and unusual!

[Floral interior with a tree-like coat hanger]

It's so great to have such a positive and bright floral interior. This is the kind of interior that will bright up even an unlucky day when you come back home.

This room has inspired me to do something similar in my new apartment. But, as you may already know, I don't like unpractical things in my interior, and I try improve their functionality as possible. So, I'd place a hidden wardrobe there, and maybe instead of that great tree-like coat hanger I'd just paint a tree on a wall. Or it would then become something radically different, what do you think?

Ornate pink retro-style bathroom

For today's post I choose this pink retro-style bathroom:

[Pink retro-style bathroom]

It looks quite ornate and subtle. It would be an interesting choice if you want to redesign your bathroom. But taking into account its peculiar style, it's obviously not something I can recommend to everyone.

Perfect room with spiral stairs

Great interior! I like everything in this room, but most of all the spiral stairs, they so powerfully attract attention. This is my favorite kind of stairs, although it's less convenient to use than normal stairs. They just look so cool I can't resist.

And it reminds me a hotel from our recent vacation ;-)

A striped closet? Why not!

What a nice idea to make the closet completely blend with the wall! Certainly, this approach is good when it's rarely used. If everybody starts doing that, it would be awfully unoriginal.

[A striped wall with a matching closet that blends with it]

By the way, that striped closet will look interesting even without the matching wall, don't you think?

An extremely cosy bedroom with an alcove bed

The first thing that you notice in this bedroom is its amazing coziness. Look, there is a bookshelf just above the bed. I'm sure it's there for a reason: that bed just calls to get under the blanket and read books in the light of the window all day long.

[Alcove bed with a bookshelf]

Coziness is the main quality of a bedroom, don't you think? That's why this bedroom's interior design is definitely a success.

Natural Wood Kitchen with Open Shelves

There are two things in this kitchen that caught my attention: the open shelves and the chalkboard.

[Rustic-looking kitchen]

I don't like when all the shelves are open in a kitchen. In my opinion, a functional kitchen should have at least some of its shelves closed, because not all kitchenware is so aesthetically pleasing that it should be exposed. Even this photo is a good example, and there are much uglier ones. But some shelves can be left open to show off our best crockery and some decoration items. This is the classic scheme that works best for everyone.

As for second point, I really like the idea with a mini-chalkboard in the kitchen to leave notes and reminders. It's easy and handy. I always prefer handwritten notes, but my husband never notices them and keeps follows only those notes that he makes in his mobile phone.

Living Room with Wonderful Extra Large Windows

This living room definitely stands out in a crowd! And first of all, this effect is because of large windows instead of a wall and the beautiful panorama that gives this room a real boost. See yourself:

Maps for Boys' Rooms: Easy, Cheap and Cool

It's a well-known fact that boys and men love maps. Maps are also color-rich, and they are readily availabe and inexpensive. That's why they are a great way to decorate a boy's room. People think you are smart when you have a map on your wall!

[A boy's room with a map wallpaper]

Look how balanced and harmonious this interior is! And all its components are quite plain and simple. It's definitely the map that brings this room to the next level of elegance.

So, how about some geography?

Array of Shelves Framed as a Piece of Art

There's no wonder that it's great when things are practical, but it's much better when they are also aesthetically pleasing. These framed bookshelves combine both of these advantages.

[Shelves framed like a painting]

I'm sure that every woman has a lot of little trifles to place in that array of shelves.

Wooden bathtub

What a nice piece of eco-style: a wooden bathtub!

[Wooden bathtub]

Some sources say that wooden bathtubs are now becoming increasingly popular. I'm not sure whether the word "popular" applies here (because they're still pretty exclusive as far as I can judge), but their popularity should definitely be growing. And that's no wonder: the polished wood resembles old ships, boats and wine casks. Not practical, but incredibly cool.

Gorgeous Antique Style Cabinet

It's a great idea to create an antique style cabinet.

[Antique style cabinet]

You see that dark wood furniture doesn’t have to be dramatic and dated. It looks gorgeous! And not only because I'm fond of this style. This is a cabinet you can boast with. Show me your cabinet and I'l say who are you.

Cool Retro Floral Wallpaper

I wonder whether the photo below depicts a wallpaper or a painting on the wall. In any case, it has a nice garden feel, while looking at it you can imagine these birds and plants being real pets in your home.

[Cool retro floral wallpaper]

Can a drawing replace real nature? I think that there is a case when they can: if you are the kind of person for whom the downsides of messing with real animals and plants in your (presumably small) apartment outweight your desire for being closer to nature.

But having a big house with a real garden is still better.

Can Brown and Blue Create a Good Color Combination?

I decided to write something about colours combinations. And for today's post I choose this room with blending blue and brown:

[Round mirror on a blue wall]

As you see, these colours are absolutely different, but they are mixed perfectly. Brown and blue create here a nice solution for an atractive interior: look how the brown accents complement the blue backdrop.

Lovely Pink Kitchen

What a lovely kitchen!

[Pink Kitchen]

The blend of white, black, pink and silver looks so attractive. I also like the idea of the bench for storing various cookware. You know, women usually have lots of such things. At this photo you can see how they can easily become an element of decoration for the kitchen if you choose them with interior design in mind.

Italian Patriot's Living Room

Look what a house of Italian patriots we have here :)

[Italian patriot's living room with Venetian furniture]

The window arc with colors of the Italian national flag is a cool idea! It so nicely combines with the classic Venetian furniture they have here. Who said that there is no place for bright elements in a classic interior? This living room proves just the opposite.

Graceful White Bedroom

This bedroom looks so soft and graceful! This feel is achieved by three elements, which are: using lots of white, forged bed, and the fluffy carpet.

[A nice and graceful bedroom]

And I really like the cosy feel that the carpet creates.

Elegant Pseudo-Country Style Bathroom

What a charming and unusual bathroom! It attracts with its country nature and dressy at the same time.

[An elegant and cosy bathroom]

Lots of wooden elements, ornate trifts, add white windows and warm colours and that makes this room so cosy. Perfect to look at, but definitely not to actually use it.

The Mix of a Lounge Chair and Bookshelves in One Piece of Furniture

Wow, what a stylish idea to mix a lounge chair with shelves!

[The mix of a lounge chair and shelves]

I like how functional it is, actually. And it's wonderful how the two different colours separate this single physical furniture unit in two imaginary items: bookshelves and the lounge chair. The image suggests that it's a conceptal rendering and not a real piece of furniture, but I hope it will be put into production and bring some fresh contemporary look to people's rooms!

Cool Bed-House for Kids

The little owner of this room is lucky! Every child dreams about his own little "house", and loves to grabble and climb everywhere. And the cool construction above the bed looks and feels like a tent, which kids definitely like.

[A little

Even if your childhood dreams didn't actualy come true, you can at least make it happen for your child!
